Chairman's Message December 2008
Welcome to the December edition of the AIE newsletter.
Before you know it we will be into 2009.
Planning is well underway for the AIE Conference in Sydney
June 2009 and there is an interesting and varied program.
Unfortunately some Members still seem to be unaware that prior
approval is needed to allow Members to use non AIE sessions to
complete their CPD. Please complete the form on the website
and send to Kate at the office for assessment by the Board.
For Members who are unable to attend organised CPD sessions
there is the option of distance education units and the
Castaldi Scholarship so everyone who wishes to should be able
to qualify as a Practicing Embalmer.
The AIE policy for recommended immunisations for workers
within the funeral industry has been finalised and further
information is available in the newsletter. Please ensure your
immunisations, and those you work with are up to date.
Congratulations to Jennifer Burge in winning this year’s
Castaldi Scholarship and also to the other finalist. I’m sure
attending the Dodge Seminars will be a memorable learning
experience for Jennifer and we look forward to hearing of her
travels on her return.
I also thank the employers of the finalists for their support
of their staff.
Welcome to Alex Gjocaj as the new State Co-ordinator for
Tasmania and thank you to Travis Tann for his work over the
last eight and a half years.
I wish everyone all the best for the Christmas season and may
you be able to spend some quality time with family and friends
and have a happy and prosperous new year.
