  Chairman's Message September 2009

Welcome to the September edition of the AIE Newsletter.

I am now pleased to announce the venue and dates for the 2010 AIE Conference.

The 2010 AIE Conference will be hosted at the Mercure Hotel in Hobart. Registration will commence on Thursday afternoon, 17 June with final checkout on the Sunday morning, 20 June. The Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held at 9am on Friday 18 June 2010, prior to the first education session.

Looking back on another very successful Conference in Sydney, congratulations must go out to everyone involved especially the Conference Committee consisting of John Crooks, Craig Murphy, Pauline Tobin and Kevin Reardon, Administrative Assistants Kate Bell (who recently elected to resign from the AIE to pursue a career change in New Zealand), Jane Lodge and National Office staff. Thanks to Duncan for providing his report included in this edition of the newsletter. Make sure you take the opportunity to check out the photos on the AIE website. Thank you to our Sponsors, without them we could not supply the quality educational and informative program. Thanks to Genelyn Pty Ltd, Hyqual Australia, Hickey & Co Pty Ltd, Walter Carter Funerals, John Allison Monkhouse, AFDA, Enware Australia Pty Ltd, Blake Emergency Services, Amalgamated Casket Company, GMS Innovation Pty Ltd, Final Touch Australia and International Cargo Solutions, and thanks to Bob Carletti from Genelyn Pty Ltd for providing the winners of the ‘So You Think An Embalmer Can Dance’ competition with a great bottle of wine.

If you haven’t yet been to an AIE Conference please consider our next Conference in Hobart. The opportunity to swap professional information and ideas with other embalmers is invaluable and that’s just the education that goes on outside the official program! If you have attended one of our Conferences you would know how informative and enjoyable they are and I look forward to seeing you in Hobart.

This newsletter is for each and every Member of the AIE, and we welcome any feedback or suggestions from you to improve this Member resource.
